Gayatri Thapas - Preface (written in February 1999)

Sookshma Sakthi Aakarshana Gayatri Thapas
is a method for making rapid spiritual progress. The Siddhas taught Sathguru Venkataraman this procedure under the supervision of his ever watchful divine teacher, Sri Idiyaapa Eesa Siddha. The Sathguru has since taught this powerful Siddha method to many and now brings it to the world at large through this Website. This is yet another important step in the Sathguru's ceaseless toil to usher in a new age of spirituality in this world of matter.

Sookshma = subtle
Sakthi = energy or potency, usually from a spiritual perspective
Aakarshana = absorb, grasp, access
Thapas = specific spiritual austerities practiced regularly over the long term
Gayatri Thapas = Thapas specifically designed around the Gayatri mantra.

So, in simple terms, Sookshma Sakthi Aakarshana Gayatri Thapas refers to those long term spiritual austerities designed around the Gayatri mantra that make the subtle spiritual energy of the universe accessible to the practitioner in a concrete way, thereby causing his or her rapid spiritual upliftment.

It's a Siddha guarantee that those who practise this method diligently under the guidance of the Sathguru will make rapid spiritual progress.

The key feature of Gayatri Thapas is the infusion of the potency of the Gayatri mantra into every cell of the human body. One of the ways this is achieved is through the use of mudras (hand gestures) in concert with Gayatri meditation. The net result is a complete spiritual purification of the body and soul. The body becomes a ready vehicle for the soul to rapidly progress towards God. This dual purification of both the body and the soul is essential if one desires rapid spiritual advancement and this is what the unique Siddha technique delivers.

Sathguru Venkataraman has taught more than 50 Gayatri mudras [as of 1999] to his students. We'll describe these in future AUMzine issues after providing a detailed introduction to this entire topic.
