24. Horai Based Worship of Sarabesa
We have described the importance of horai in timing worship procedures.
Each horai is a special time for for one of the Nine Lords.
Horai based worship, which is very effective in general, becomes all the more important in
the context of Sri Sarabesa.
Horai based worship of Sri Sarabesa is an esoteric Siddha worship procedure
that is packed with intense spiritual power.
As pointed out elsewhere in this article, the Nitya Pradosham and Raahu Kaalam time periods coincide on Sunday.
If we assume a 6 a.m. sunrise and a 6 p.m. sunset, this time period will be between 4:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
This one and a half hour time period will be spanned by Chandra horai between 4 and 5 p.m. and by Sani horai
from 5 to 6 p.m. Thus Sarabesa worhsip during this time period can be split into two parts: worship of
Sarabesa during Chandra horai and worship of Sarbesa during Sani horai.
There are numerous intricacies in horai based worship procedures honoring Sri Sarabesa.
We'll discuss just a few of these specialities in the next few sections.
The reader should keep in mind that
we assumed a 6 a.m. sunrise and a 6 p.m. sunset in the above example for illustration purposes.
This will not be the case on most days in most places and thus other horais will enter into the
picture. Each one of these horais has its own speciality and Sarbesa worship during any of the
seven possible horais is special.
We invite the reader to calculate the horai schedule for any
given day. We urge everyone of you to worship Sri Sarabesa during all seven horais.
This is easily done if one worships Sri Sarabesa at the same time each day over a period of a week.
This is an easy way to cover all the horais in the course of a week.
25. Chandra Horai During Sunday Raahu Kaalam
In the Chandra horai time span during Raahu kaalam on Sunday,
perform abishekam for Sri Sarabesvara using pure cow's milk.
Do archana using little spheres of butter as described elsewhere in this article.
Recite the 108 names of Sarabesa during the archana.
Apply sandalwood paste on Sarabesvara's form. On this paste, affix full, unblemished rice grains
(which are a favorite of Chandra) as a decoration, not unlike sequins on a dress.
You may use pearls for this decoration, if you can afford them.
White silk is the ideal vestment for Sarabesa during Chandra horai.
Recite Chandra Mouleesvara hymns in honor of Sarabesa.
Since white is Chandra's favorite color, offer white colored dishes
(e.g. coconut rice, rice mixed with coconut flakes) as neivédyam
and distribute the same to the poor and the needy.
White colored sweets are particularly appropriate.
Worship of Sarabesa in the Chandra horai time span during Sunday Raahu Kaalam as decribed above
is a spiritual solution to many material problems:

Have you ever come across a daugther-in-law and mother-in-law pair who get along famously?
Daugther-in-law and mother-in-law problems are common in all parts of the world.
But the above worship ensures cordiality between daughter-in-law and mother-in-law.
It resolves any erstwhile problems between them.

Sometimes one may be estranged from one's own sons and daughters.
This problem too can be resolved by the above worship.

There are many who have succumbed to bad habits and addictions.
Having become a slave to these addictions, they have no peace of mind.
The above worship will give them peace of mind and help them cultivate good habits.
They will be able to get rid of their addictions.

Tbe above worship also gives relief to those in the clutch of tyrant bosses who work their employees like slaves.
|
The Siddhas have further specialized this worship with the paksham (moon phase)
as a parameter.
Worship of Sarabesa in the Chandra horai time span during Sunday Raahu Kaalam in the waxing phase
(Sukla paksham) offers the following spiritual solutions to material problems:

Endeavors which have met with opposition or which have just been stuck for some reason or the other
will move forward. Feed the poor with rice mixed with yogurt served on banana leaves.

This worship will resolve problems between husband and wife.
|
| - |
Kids who are sluggish and who are not good at school will show promise as a result of this worship.
|
Worship of Sarabesa in the Chandra horai time span during Sunday Raahu Kaalam in the waning phase
(Krishna paksham) offers the following spiritual solutions to material problems:

It's a solution for migraine and other afflictions of the head.
|

You may have listed your house or vehicle for sale, but for some reason or other, there are just no takers.
Or you just can't seem to recover monies you have loaned to others.
What can you do? Worship Sarabesa in the Chandra horai time span during Sunday Raahu kaalam in the waning phase.
This worship will set enough wheels in motion to steer buyers towards you and also help you recover your monies.

If your husband is suffering from a long standing disease, follow this worship procedure and
your husband's condition will improve.

26. Sani Horai During Sunday Raahu Kaalam
In the Sani horai time span during Raahu kaalam on Sunday,
mix sandalwood paste with punugu perfume and perform
abishekam with this mixture or apply it as a paste on Sri Sarabesa's form.
Do archana using flowers from the Nagalingam tree in this time span.
The appropriate vestment for Sri Sarabesa in this time span is black silk or
blackish blue silk.
Distribute black or blackish blue clothes to the poor.
In this horai, offer selfless service to the handicapped. Help them out, particularly those who are lame.
This is very effective worship.
Offer sesame based dishes
(e.g., rice mixed with sesame powder, sesame sweet crunch,
dishes made using urad dal lentils and sesame seeds) and fruits
as neivédyam and distribute the same to the poor.
Worship of Sarabesa in the Sani horai time span during Sunday Raahu Kaalam as decribed above
is a spiritual solution to many material problems:

This worship gets rid of enmity and its evil effects.

This worship will help resolve long standing inheritance litigation.
It will create an environment in which these court cases can be resolved amicably.
|

If you had had to shelve building work of any kind because of problems arising
from neighbors and relatives, worry not. This worship will solve these problems
and you'll be able to proceed with the work you had planned.

This worship can bring together estranged couples.
|
| - |
If you have been the victim of burglary or if have just lost something,
this worship can help you get them back.
|
| - |
This worship can cure diseases and injuries of the leg and feet.
|
| - |
There's another important benefit of this worship.
In this day and age, it's incredibly easy to tarnish one's reputation by spreading
scandalous rumors. This can create doubts and mar one's character in the eyes of all.
Slander can wreak havoc in married life. It can even lead to divorce.
Rumors spread at work can wreck one's career.
Doubt, once planted, hardly ever goes away.
And thus clearing one's name in the face of slander can be very hard.
Can all the money in the world remove the doubts in the heads of people?
But there's one way. Worship Sarabesa during the Sani horai time period
as described above and the merciful Lord will Himself solve the ill effects of
malicious slander. There's no other way to recover one's good name, say the Siddhas.

27. Guru Horai During Sunday Raahu Kaalam
It's possible for the Sunday Raahu kaalam time period to spill over into Guru horai.
This happens during summer in northern latitudes.
During the Guru horai time span, one must offer beauty products and ornaments as
gifts to married women who can't afford these on their own.
Worship of Sarabesa in the Guru horai time span during Sunday Raahu Kaalam
is a spiritual solution to many material problems:

If a woman follows this worship procedure, her husband will become more virtuous.
If he has succumbed to bad habits and addictions, he'll be liberated from them.

Revenge is not man's responsibility.
Seeking revenge results in bad karma.
This bad karma can be offset by Sarabesa worship in the Guru horai time span during Sunday Raahu kaalam.
Those who have sought revenge,
whether knowingly or unknowingly, must follow this worship procedure over a long period of time,
to achieve this result.

This Guru horai worship also
makes good compromises possible with one's enemies.
It reduces the intensity of enmity.
Amicable settlements will become a possibility especially in the context of litigation.

28. The Sarabesa Narasimha Duo
As we mentioned before, the Sarabesa form is like a rare diamond;
it's not that easy to find. We have mentioned some temples where
this unique divine form is found. The Siddhas say that if the divine
forms of Sri Sarabesvara and Narasimha are found in opposite pillars facing each other,
the beneficial effects of this divine combination are beyond words;
the spiritual results get magnified manifold.
So here's a spiritual project for you.
Seek out temples where this divine duo is present
and do your Sarabesvara pooja there.
Share your findings with friends and family and involve them in
Sarabesvara worship. Do all of this from a totally selfless standpoint.
This is an easy way of pleasing Sarabesa, the Great Universal Protector.
