Ashta Prathaapa Giri Valam Days
Eight Special Days at Arunachala
Day 6 - Nov/22/99
The Siddhas have designed a special eight day giri valam worship procedure for this
Pramaadhi year (mid April 1999 to mid April 2000).
This is the Ashta Prathaapa Arunachala Giri Valam worship procedure.
Nov/22/99 is the sixth day of this eight day period.
many are the journeys and travels we undertake in our lifetimes.
And most of these are for material ends. But there's one journey all of us must undertake.
It's the ultimate journey; a journey that can break us free from the cycle of birth and death.
It's a journey that only three and a half to four hours to complete. It's the Arunachala giri valam,
the ultimate spiritual journey.
During your first giri valam, you may be full of selfish, material desires.
But as you perform more and more giri valams, as you involve others in giri valam,
you'll gradually become clearer and clearer in your thinking. You'll be
gradually uplifted spiritually and you'll find yourself elevated to a
more selfless, more spiritual state. You'll sense a spiritual resurgence in yourself.
This is a blessing from Lord Arunachala.
As you continue to perform more and more giri valams, as you dedicate yourself more and more
to giri vala yoga, Lord Arunachala will work His spiritual magic on you more and more
and elevate you to higher spiritual planes.
Barani
nakshatram and Siddha Yogam - these are the
time characteristics of Nov/22/99. It's the Barani Deepam day at Arunachala,
the day before the great Karthigai Deepam day.
Perform giri valam on Nov/22/99 and Arunachala will reorient your life towards spirituality.
This is His great blessing to us on this day.
Those who perform a minimum of 1500 Arunachala giri valams from Nov/22/99 onwards
will be blessed with the divine formula for getting free from the cycle of birth and death
through the grace of a true Sathguru.
Thus the results of Arunachala giri valam change day by day, moment by moment.
Only the Siddhas know these details.
But let's ask ourselves a question.
Should we not make use of what they have revealed to us?
Nov/22/99 and Idukku Pillaiaar

Arunachala as seen from the Idukku Pillaiaar Shrine

During giri valam on Nov/22/99, you must stop by the Ganesh temple known as the Idukku Pillaiaar temple.
This shrine is a short distance from the Sri La Sri Lobha Matha Agasthiar Ashram
on the giri valam route. You'll come across it after the Kubera Lingam shrine.
You must worship the Arunachala Hill from this spot.
There's a unique worship procedure at this shrine.
You'll find a small opening between two pillars and two beams.
Enter this opening facing the hill and come out the other way without showing your back to the hill.
Those who do this will get rid of millions and millions of future births.
This is the symbolism behind Idukku Pillaiaar worship.
There are many esoteric yantras which make up the foundation of this shrine.
The small shrine is a beeja akshara yantra mandapam, say the Siddhas.
In other words, it's a mantra powerhouse. The power of these mantras and yantras
enter you as you make your way through the small opening. It's this spiritual sakthi or power
that gets rid of millions and millions of future births.
Thus this shrine has the power to free you from the cycle of birth and death.
If you perform Arunachala giri valam on Nov/22/99 and if you cultivate
an unswerving determination to reach God (vairaagyam), you'll reach a spiritual state of immortality beyond birth and death.
This is the advice of the Siddhas.
