Ashta Prathaapa Giri Valam Days
Eight Special Days at Arunachala
Day 8 - Nov/24/99
The Siddhas have designed a special eight day giri valam worship procedure for this
Pramaadhi year (mid April 1999 to mid April 2000).
This is the Ashta Prathaapa Arunachala Giri Valam worship procedure.
Nov/24/99 is the eighth day of this eight day period.
Question your goals, say the Siddhas. We have many many goals.
We keep changing them too. Our goals during childhood are different from those during youthhood
which are different from those in our middle age. We want to make money. We want to be successful.
We want to raise a family. We want to lead a prosperous life. We want luxuries.
We want this; We want that!
Is there any end to what we want, ask the Siddhas.
What's Your Goal?
But goals are ok, as long as they are good, moral, ethical goals.
We must get rid of all other goals. But what if you're confused about goals?
What if you don't know what you goal should be? No problem!
Just perform giri valam on Nov/24/99 and your problem will be solved.
Rohini nakshatram and Wednesday - these are the
time characteristics of Nov/24/99 and giri valam during on this day is unique in its own way.
Many meander from goal to goal without any direction.
Some can't trust any one or any thing; they doubt every one and every thing
with the result that their lives are not much fun. When they reach some
conclusions based on a lifetime of experience, they're old and ridden with disease.
It dawns on them that they have wasted their lives.
So what's the solution? How can we make sure that we don't waste our lives?
Seek Out Your Sathguru
Simple, say the Siddhas. Make it your goal to reach your Sathguru at a young age,
or at least before middle age.
But why don't we do it? Because we don't have the right set of influences in our lives.
We don't have the right friends. We fall prey to bad habits and evil influences.
The result? We stray far from spirituality.
How can you ensure that you don't stray from spirituality?
By sheer, unswerving determination and conviction (vairaagyam) that you'll definitely
reach your Sathguru by God's grace. Let this be your only prayer. Let this be your only desire.
With this solitary desire and with single minded determination, perform 1000 Arunachala giri valams
starting on Nov/24/99. Those who do this with sincerity will reach their Sathguru.
Nov/24/99 - A Day Charged With the Sathguru's Blessings
It's on the Rohini nakshatram day that
the great Lord Krishna performed paadha pooja (worship of the Sathguru's feet) for
Sri Sandeepani, His Sathguru and communicated the significance of Guru Paadha Pooja to others.
It's also the day on which Sri Narayana Paradesi Siddha performed Arunachala giri valam after
getting divine instruction from his Sathguru on how to make the body transcend death.
The Sathguru's blessings abound on Nov/24/99.
It's a day charged with the blessings and grace of the Sathguru.
Make use of it! This is the advice of the Siddhas.
