Perform abishekam, archana and Veda, mantra, yantra pooja for Sri Veera Anjaneya on this day.
Do tharpana pooja and feed the poor and help them in a totally selfless way.
The spiritual benefits of this pooja on this day are boundless.
Much bad karma can be neutralized by this pooja.
The Siddhas outline five of these below:
1. Feed Another Soul
All of us must feed at least one another soul on a daily basis, say the Siddhas.
The other soul could be a guest in your house, a homeless or poor person,
or birds and animals like crows and cows.
Offering food and drink to devotees
who are performing Arunachala giri valam is particularly significant.
This act of feeding another is called adhiti bojanam.
But very few do adhiti bojanam every day.
Failing to do this results in bad karma
which manifests itself in the form of
problems and disagreements with one's relatives.
But this problem can be resolved during this Vishnupathi time period.
Mix rice with yogurt and black skinned grapes (particualrly seedless ones) and request the temple priest
to apply this on Sri Veera Anjaneya's divine form during the Vishnupathi time period.
Have it removed and accept it as the Lord's prasaadam (divine gift).
Distribute this food which has come into contact with the Lord to the poor and the needy.
Remember that whatever comes into contact with the Lord's form can destroy every kind of karma.
Continue this worship procedure from this day on and you can neutralize the bad karma resulting from not feeding others.
2. Parents, Employees and Servants
It's important that we serve our parents in their old age.
It's not enough that we take care of them financially, but
we must also be near them and care for them physically.
Money is not the great equalizer, when it comes to parents.
It's also important that we treat our employees, servants and
other hired help properly. The Siddhas say that those who work
for us now were related to us in previous lifetimes. They point
out that those who did not discharge their duties towards their
parents may be born as their servants in a future lifetime so
that they can repay their debt to them. These are the workings
of spiritual laws. Thus it's very important that we treat our
hired help with respect. The hurt feelings of your hired help
gets transformed into problems in your life.
Not performing one's duty towards one's parents and
mistreating servants and employees results in bad karma.
The Siddhas say that this bad karma manifests
itself as frequent illnesses in one's children, children not
growing up properly and not progressing in school.
Those who have mistreated their hired help
should get butter made from cow's milk and request the temple priest
to apply this on Sri Veera Anjaneya's divine form during the Vishnupathi time period.
They should then have peanuts (groundnuts) applied on the butter.
Once this is removed, they should distribute the same to the poor along with paanagam drink
(water mixed with jaggery sugar, cardamom and powdered ginger). Continue this worship procedure from this day on.
This pooja resolves the bad karma described above, in particular the problem of frequent illnesses.
Those who have not discharged their duties towards their parents
should do the same pooja but substitute the peanuts with black skinned grapes, particularly seedless ones.
They should continue this worship procedure from this day on, particularly on the
thithis that their parents passed away on.
Those who do this will get solutions for untimely deaths in the family,
untimely losses and accidents.
3. Loans
Almost all of us has had to raise a loan at one time or another.
But not all of us paid the loan back in time.
The Siddhas say that it's very important that we repay our loans on time with gratitude.
They say that keeping our word is of absolute importance if we desire spiritual upliftment.
Thus it's very important that we repay our loans.
Defaulting on loans doesn't sit well with the Siddhas.
Those who are guilty of this sin should resolve to lead a life of honor and purpose.
This Vishnupathi pooja can help them lead an honorable, purposeful life.
They should make a garland of guava fruits and offer it to Sri Veera Anjaneya
during the Vishnupathi time period. They should then distribute these fruits
to the poor and serve them in a selfless way. They should continue this pooja
from this day onwards.
4. Musicians, Take Note!
Musicians should realize that their musical ability is a gift from God.
Thus they should support budding talent. There are many who use their fame
to suppress other musicians so that their kids can come up in the world of music.
The sad thing is that their kids may not have real talent at all!
This is pretty terrible karma and they have to work it out some day or the other.
Moreover, musicians should treat their band members well and pay them their due.
Given that they have been given the gift of music by God, musicians should teach
all their music knowledge before passing on.
Musicians who may have erred, given the above Siddha pronouncements, should
seek redemption during this Vishnupathi time period.
They should get butter made from cow's milk and request the temple priest
to apply this on Sri Veera Anjaneya's divine form during the Vishnupathi time period.
They should then have pomegranate seeds applied on the butter and
ensure that many can get darshan of the Lord with this decoration.
Once this is removed, they should distribute the same to the poor.
They should continue this worship procedure from this day on.
5. Pay Up!
When you engage some one to do a job for you, you must pay them their due.
This is true of anyone you buy from, be he a basket weaver or a potter or a painter.
Pay them their due. For example, pay your mechanic what he desreves for his job. If you're
in the habit of asking for a discount each time, you'll put him in a
position of hiking up his rates. Let him get the satisfaction that
he got what he rightfully deserved. Treat your mechanic with respect and
treat your vehicle with respect too, say the Siddhas.
Not doing so can result in vehicle trouble and mishaps.
If you haven't paid your employees and others their due,
make 1008 vadai eatables on this Vishnupathi day and string them
into a garland and offer the same to Sri Veera Anjanaeya.
Distribute these eatables to the poor. Continue this pooja from this
day onwards. This pooja will resolve problems at your factory and workplace.
These are five simple yet powerful karma neutralization procedures revealed to us by the Siddhas.
Let's follow their advice, neutralize our karma and have ourselves uplifted towards the Divine!
