Sri Agasthiar The Day of the Flawless Gem - Apr/29/2ØØØ

Maasu = flaw.
Ilaa = without.
Mani = gem.
Thus Maasilaa = flawless,
Maasilaamani = flawless gem and Maasilaamani Eesvara = The Lord in the aspect of the flawless gem!

Who in this universe can claim to be flawless but the Supreme Lord and Master Maasilaamani Eesvara? The Lord alone is flawless in every way. He's the One who is pure in every aspect. This eternally pure, flawless aspect of the Lord is visible to us in the divine Svayambu Lingam form of Sri Maasilaa Mani Eesvara in a place called Thiru Mullai Vaayil near Chennai (Madras).

This form of the Lord is perennially bathed in sandalwood paste. But every year, on the day of the Sadhayam nakshatram in the Chithirai maasam, the year old sandalwood paste is removed and a new coat applied for the next year. So it's only on this day and that too for a short time that one can view the bare Svayambu Lingam form of the Lord. The Siddhas refer to this vision of the Lord as the Darshan of the Light of Eternal Truth. This vision which is available to us only for a few hours each year must be seen by everyone of us, irrespective of race, religion or nationality, say the Siddhas.

When does this day occur in the year 2ØØØ? It occurs on April/29/2ØØØ. This is the day of the flawless gem!

On April/29/2ØØØ, arrive at the Maasilaa Mani Temple at 6 a.m. in the morning. Why? Because every Siddha, rishi and all divine personages will be present in subtle or concrete form at this temple on this day to behold the darshan of the Light of Eternal Truth. Being in the midst of this august assemblage is a blessing indeed!

The Cure for All Ills
Siva Lingam On the day of the Flawless Gem, the sandalwood paste which had been in contact with the Lord's divine form, for a year will be distributed to the devotees. This potent sandalwood paste prasadam is charged with the power of Lord Maasilaa Mani; it's a cure for all ills; it can cure all diseases and it's an antidote for bad karma. Wear it daily on your forehead with faith and devotion.

Just near the sanctum of the Flawless Gem, you can see two pillars made of white erukku. There are many Siddha medicinal secrets associated with these blessed pillars. They are the home of many celestial angelic beings well versed in medicine who are authorized to cure those devotees afflicted with what may seem to be incurable diseases and bodily problems, particularly uterine diseases, diseases of the stomach and abdominal cavity, skin diseases and diseases of the nervous system. These devotees are advised by the Siddhas to circle these pillars and to offer the gift of sesame (gingelly) oil, coconut oil and shikakai powder to the poor and the needy. Furthermore, they should make the white colored ven pongal dish and offer it to the poor. This is the Siddha prescription for redemption for these people. Do it with faith and sincerity and you'll see results.

Once Lord Indra, the king of the Devas, was afflicted with nervous system problems in the area of His neck. The solution? Lord Masilaa Mani's temple! If this is the temple sought out by Lord Indra for His bodily afflictions, should not all of us follow in His footsteps?

This temple is visited daily by none other than Maha Guru Sri Agasthiar. It is on His daily worship list! Should it not be on ours?

Make Sandalwood Paste for the Flawless Gem!
The great thing about the Flawless Gem is that He accepts and wears the sandalwood paste offered lovingly by His devotees. You too can make sandalwood paste and offer it to the Lord on the day of the Flawless Gem.

There are strict rules regarding how this sandalwood paste should be made. We have described them in an earlier article in AUMzine. Make sure you read them and follow them diligently.

For quite a few years, the Agasthiar Ashramites have been making sandalwood paste for the Flawless Gem, as instructed by the Sathguru, Guru Mangala Gandharva Venkataraman. They have also acted as central collection points where others can deposit sandalwood paste that they have made. On the day of the Flawless Gem, they transport this sandalwood paste to the Masilaa Mani temple. We invite everyone to make use of this service provided by the Ashramites. For the year 2ØØØ, we have arranged for four collection points:

We invite every human being to make sandalwood paste for the Flawless Gem and deposit it at one of the four collection points mentioned above (before the prescribed time). Do it yourself and make your family, friends and relatives do it too.

On April/29/2ØØØ, arrive at the temple by 6 a.m. Bring sandalwood sticks and the soft stone on which sandalwood paste is made. Involve others in making sandalwood paste too. It's not enough that we get uplifted spiritually, we must work for the upliftment of others too, say the Siddhas. Being present in this temple on this day with the raw material required to make sandalwood paste is a wonderful form of selfless service. Those who do this will be instruments who offer others the ability to serve in the right place at the right time! Is there anything better than being instruments in the hand of the Flawless Gem? So do this in a spirit of selfless service and make your family, friends and relatives do it too.

Make sure that you and others follow the rules for making sandalwood paste and enjoy the boundless blessings of the Flawless Gem!
