Sri Agasthiar The First Vishnupathi of the Viya Year - May 15, 2006 - Lord Ranganatha of Gopurapatti

The First Vishnupathi auspicious time period of the Viya year occurs on late night May 14 and continues into the morning of May 15, 2ØØ6. Observe this occasion according to the Siddha worship procedures described in the May 2ØØ6 issue of Sri Agasthia Vijayam, the Ashram monthly magazine.

The Lord of Honor during this Vishnuapthi is Lord Ranganatha of Gopurapatti near Trichy.

This temple is of great importance to farmers. They should bring their seeds and their first harvests of each season and offer worship here.

Anyone who has ever broken a bone in his or her body should visit this temple at least once and worship Lord Ranganatha.

People who drive vehicles for a living, electricians, miners, people who work underground laying pipes, cables etc. and those who work jobs that involve hazards should worship here often.

Those who have been disgraced by their relatives, children and by the treachery of friends should maintain vrata on Saturdays and worship here to regain their lost name and prestige.

A great Siddha by name Perumal Nambi Siddha used to live here. This place was home to many of his leelas. His jeeva samadhi is still here and his powerful spiritual presence can still be felt here and made use of by true devotees.

The nine hour period from 0130 hours to 1030 hours IST on May 15 is of great spiritual importance. As we have pointed out elsewhere in AUMzine (articles 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8), spiritual aspirants can make great spiritual progress by following specific worship procedures revealed by the Siddhas for this particular time period. The Sathguru, Guru Mangala Gandharva Venkataraman, has been revealing these Siddha procedures for many years now. We hope that Vaishnavites and Narayana devotees everywhere will make it a point to observe this most important Vishnupathi worship procedure as revealed to us by the Siddhas.

The Vishnupathi time period occurs once in three months. Thus there are four Vishnupathi time periods in each varusham (year). Since each varusham repeats once in 60 years, each of these Vishnupathi periods occurs once only in 60 years. In other words, if you miss celebrating the First Vishnupathi of the Viya varusham (year), you'll have to wait 60 years for the next one! Hence seize the moment and celebrate each Vishnupathi in accordance with Siddha procedures.

The Vishnupathi auspicious time period marks that time in a different era during which Lord Narayana performed miracles for the sake of His devotees. Each of these auspicious Vishnupathi time periods should be observed by devotees using a specific set of Siddha worship procedures.

For May 15, 2ØØ6, these pooja procedures have been described in the May 2ØØ6 issue of Sri Agasthia Vijayam, the Ashram monthly magazine. Please refer to this issue for details and do this pooja as described therein. As with all poojas, the Lord blesses the devotee with both spiritual and material wealth.

The May 2ØØ6 issue of the Ashram monthly magazine also describes the great spiritual events that happened during the Viya Vaikasi maasa (i.e., first) Vishnupathi during various yugas. So make sure you read this issue of the magazine.

This temple is in need of renovation. Aspirants, particularly Narayana devotees and Vaishnavites everywhere, should do their best to renovate this temple and make sure that the six daily poojas are done on schedule here. Devotees should treat this as an opportunity given by Lord Narayana Himself to render service to the Divine.
