Sri Agasthiar Sri Drishti Durga

The Sathguru, Guru Mangala Gandharva Venkataraman, has taught us a special Mother Durga worship procedure that he learnt from his divine teacher Siva Guru Mangala Gandharva, Sri La Sri Idiyappa Siddha. This worship is known as Dwadasa Durga Upasana or the worship of 12 Durga Devis.

Of these 12 Mother Durga manifestations, those born under Vrischika rasi (click here to find your rasi) should offer special worship to Mother Sri Drishti Durga.

What the eyes see, the mind desires. Unfulfilled desires lead to anger, jealousy and other debilitating traits that can derail one's spiritual practices. Thus it is important that our eyes see what is good so that our spiritual practices are not waylaid by improper desires. Pray to Mother Drishti Durga that you may only see what is good. Request Her divine protection so that the maya of this world does not enter you through your eyes.

Sri Drishti Durga's protective shield saves us from evil mantra attacks launched by jealous people. People who are the target of such attacks should take refuge in Mother Drishti Durga. People who indulge in such attacks should request forgiveness of the Mother also.

Sri Durga Devi, The Destroyer of Evil The Sathguru tells us that the worship of Mother Drishti Durga is particularly important for those who have caused pain in the lives of others. Home wreckers, family wreckers, people who have caused loved ones to separate, gossip mongers, people who have stood in the way of the progress of others, people who have stolen the inheritances of others, those who have enjoyed the wealth of others by evil means, those who have taken the jobs of others and especially those who have destroyed the lives of others should earnestly seek forgiveness at the holy feet of Sri Drishti Durga and resolve to undo the harm that they have caused.

The Sathguru advises us to use dark red clothes and Parijata flowers in the in the alankar of Sri Drishti Durga. (Parijata or Parijatham flowers are also known as Pavala Malli, Coral Jasmine, Night Jasmine and Nyctanthes Arbortristis.)

We should offer sweet chakkarai pongal neivedyam offering for Mother Drishti Durga.

Sri Drishti Durga is the Guru of Rudragni devatas and so spriritual aspirants everywhere should worship Her with great devotion.

10 more Durga Devis to be featured soon.
