2012 and Clothes 2012 = "Vastra" (clothes) shakti Year - This is one of the key Siddha insights given by Sathguru Venkataraman regarding Year 2012. Giving new clothes to poor people is very important in 2012. So do this as much as possible during all of 2012. Good times to do this? See below. What else about clothes? See below. Why the elephant border in the pic above? See below. Deities and sacred spaces for worship throughout 2012 (1) Lord Sri Agneeswara SHIVA of the Nallaadai sacred space. Sathguru Venkataraman also specified this "kshetra" as the "nakshatra" birth star temple for Bharani nakshatra. (2) Lord Sri Kodi Vedapureeswara SHIVA of the Thugili sacred space. (3) Lord Sri Sattainatha SHIVA. (4) MeiKai. See below. Sattainatha-Shiva and 2012 In the Vamana Purana and other epics, the sacred "leela" play of how Lord Shiva wore the skin of the elephant as His cloth. This is the sacred avatar "leela" play of SATTAINATHA SHIVA. Because 2012 is a "clothes-shakti" year, the worship of Lord Sri Sattainatha Shiva is important throughout 2012 along with the worship of Nallaadai Agneeswarar and Thugili Kodi Vedapureeswarar. Elephants Connected with the above mentioned episode is also the "leela" play wherein Lord Shiva resided (in yoga samadhi) within the belly of an elephant and performed tapasya in the Soolamangalam sacred space. Sathguru Venkataraman said that one of the "Kaala" (Time) features of Wednesday is its suitability for the wearing of new clothes. Thus, in this clothes-shakti year of 2012, doing "vastra-dhaana" (the giving of new clothes to poor people) on Wednesdays is special. Of course, giving new clothes during all of 2012 is special. Don't lose sight of that. It is just that Wednesdays are that much more special for this purpose because of the connection between Wednesdays and new clothes. It is also for this reason that the Thiruvennkadu sacred space is pictured in the darshan photo above since Thiruvenkadu is one of the sacred spaces of Sri Budha (Mercury) whose day is Wednesday.
