Sandalwood Tree Avatar Day
Sathguru Venkataraman said that it was on a Chitirai Sadayam Day that the sandalwaood tree (one of the most sacred trees) was brought to Earth.
Thus "Chithirai Sadhayam" is the avatar day of the sandalwood tree and
worship using sandalwood paste is very important on this day.
Use and Misuse of Sandalwood
Sandalwood, like fragrant flowers, should be used only for worship purposes. This is a Siddha rule.
Any other use of sandalwood or fragrant flowers is in fact a misuse. Needless to say, such misuse comes with its own undesirable consequences.
So, use sandalwood and sandalwood paste only for worship purposes.
Grinding sandalwood paste with one's own hand and applying it with devotion on deities is one of the most important daily worship practices. You can read more about it elsewhere in www.Agasthiar.Org.
Women and Fragrant Flowers
As Sathguru Venkataraman said, only flowers with natural fragrance can be used in worship.
Flowers without natural fragrance automatically disqualify themselves from use in worship.
The question then arises: "If it is a Siddha rule that flowers can only be used in worship, how about women wearing flowers?"
The answer given by Sathguru Venkataraman to this question is simple: "Women can certainly wear those fragrant flowers that have first been offered to God in worship."
Bliss and Keerakkalur
Doing abhishekam with 108 or 1008 valampuri sangu conch shells,
worship with the sweet sound of sangu conch shells and Brahma Thalam in the Keerakalur sacred space will lead to the boon of bliss. This is a Siddha secret of our Guru Parampara lineage.

The "Mukti Fruit" Conch and Lord Ganesh
1 in 10,000 conch shells is a "valampuri sangu" conch.
1 in 10,000 valampuri conches is a "Mukti Fruit" conch that gets mukti (salvation).
Making sweet music with such a Mukti Conch in the nearby sacred space of Thiruvalanchuzhi, Lord Ganesh offered worship to Lord Shiva in Kailash. The experience of this divine episode can be had in the Keerakalur sacred space. [Note that the Thiruvalanchuzi referred to here is near Keerakalur. It is different from the more well known Thiruvalanchuli that is near Kumbakonam.]
