Arunachala There was a time, less than 20 years ago, when not even a handful of people did Arunachala GiriValam. It may be hard to believe now, but we were there to see this in person; in the 70s, 80s and early 90s. Today, however, there are hundreds of thousands that do Girivalam. Sometimes millions as on the Karthigai Deepam day and some other days. Which is a most heartwarming sight!

The Lone Voice: "Every deity does Arunachala GiriValam. Shouldn't you?"

Whether there was no one doing Girivalam or a million people doing it, there was one voice that hailed the absolute supremacy of Arunachala and Girivalam - the authoritative Siddha voice of Sathguru Venkataraman that repeatedly told humankind that Arunachala GiriValam is the most potent spiritual practice available to us and we should make use of it to the fullest.

"Brahma, Vishnu, Rama, Krishna, Balarama, Hanuman, Muruga, Ganesh, Bhairava and all other deities do Arunachala Girivalam. Shouldn't you?" Sathguru Venkataraman This was the striking question the Sathguru posed to us and to the world.

Starting from the time his Siddha teacher vanished from his sight, the Sathguru (who was then a 16 year old lad) began his life's mission of spreading the glory of Arunachala, Girivalam, the Siddha way and Siddha secrets that explain all mysteries, both spiritual and material.

At every opportunity, Sathguru Venkataraman spoke and wrote about Arunachala - the spiritual pinnacle available to one and all - in his speeches, in his books and in his monthly magazine.

This went on for 30 years and all of a sudden, or so it seemed, people began circling the great Arunachala Hill. Tens, then hundreds, then thousands and eventually hundreds of thousands and millions! All within a span of around 5 years in the mid to late 90s.

Lord Arunachala had begun drawing people to Himself like He had done from time immemorial!

It was breathtakingly glorious, especially to those of us who had experienced the reality of no one doing GiriValam to this seemingly sudden metamorphosis where millions did it.

And the glory continues, thanks to the all conquering divine grace of Arunachala.

Surrendering to Arunachala - the Ultimate Solution

Through all of the above, the Sathguru did not change. From day one till the last day, for more than half a century since reaching his Siddha teacher, the Sathguru remained a surrendered devotee of Arunachala, always in awe of the infinite spiritual grandeur of the Lord and Master of the Universe - the compassionate Lord Arunachala.

Shunning publicity, the Sathguru did his work quietly, always marvelling at the boundless compassion of Arunachala. With every breath, he reminded us that surrendering one's ego, desires and human failings at the Lotus Feet of this ocean of compassion - that has presented Itself to us in the Visvaroopa of the Arunachala Hill - is the "Arul Vazhi" - the path of grace that is a sure solution for all our problems. To highlight this spiritual fact, he gave us the simple one line Arunachala Reminder Mantra.

How to surrender?

How does one surrender to Lord Arunachala? Through the process of GiriValam and of seva (service) to GiriValam pilgrims and the poor. This process peaks every year during the ten day Karthigai Deepam celebration in November/December. The Karthigai Deepam of every year is unique and Sathguru Venkataraman published these unique Siddha secrets every year.

Here is our yearly article on the unique features of the Annual Karthigai Deepam Festival in Arunachala.

Day 9: November 20, 2010 "Aasu Mozhi" 9 and Arunachala

Day 10: November 21, 2010 "Aasu Mozhi" 10 and Arunachala

What is "Aasu Mozhi?"

The word "Mozhi" means language in general. But here, it refers to more than just spoken or written language.

The "Aasu Mozhi" of Arunachala's Karthigai Deepam are sounds and messages beyond spoken and written language.

"Aasu mozhi" messages are not sought. They are delivered without us seeking them. Just like Kalidasa was given gnana (wisdom( even without his asking for it.

These can be received and understood only through the medium of Bhakti (devotion).

More Ancient than Chidambara Rahasya

Sathguru Venkataraman The Great Arunachala Secret: Arunachala Sound and Arunachala Light. More ancient than Chidambara Rahasya is the Great Arunachala Secret.

Arunachala Sound is Divine Light.

Arunachala Light is Divine Sound.

How to understand this paradox? Only through the "Aasu Mozhi" blessings of Arunachala's Karthigai Deepam.

These are secrets gotten from the Siddha Lokas by Sathguru Venkataraman and given to us.

Primordial sound and light at Arunachala.

ETERNAL Arunachala Deepam

The infinite light of Arunachala has always existed.

The Deepam has always existed.

Siddhas and deities have worshipped the Arunachala Deepam even before the Deepam Festival was formalized and given to us by Lord Brahma and Vishnu.

Beyond word and meaning

Before the dawn of word and its meaning, existed the great Arunachala Sound and the Deepam Light. Even before Lord Brahma began officiating the Deepam festival as Brahmotsava.

Beyond word and its meaning is the Arunachala Girivalam pathway. This is the path of infinite, all encompassing spiritual intelligence.

The Arunachala Deepam Jyoti exists 365 days a year. This is the NITYA (Eternal) Jothi for the Siddhas.

Deepam for mere mortals

This Eternal Arunachala Jyoti Light is always glowing at the peak of Arunachala Hill, but since humans lack Bhakti (devotion), they can't see it.

Even so, Arunachala, out of His boundless grace, has the Karthigai Deepam Flame lit once a year so that even ordinary human eyes can perceive the endless Jothi that exists at the peak of the Arunachala Hill always.

Every Karthigai Deepam is unique

The secrets of each annual Deepam are unique. It is Arunachala's command that only the Siddhas can talk about these secrets. These secrets are gotten from the Siddha Lokas and given to us by Sathguru Venkataraman.

Arunachala is the first and foremost of the sacred spaces that help us get darshan of God. Since the Lord gives everyone darshan in the form of the Arunachala Hill, everyone who has seen the Arunachala Hill with their eyes has in fact seen God, said Sathguru Venkataraman.

4 Hours for Lord Hanuman too!

An average human takes around 4 hours to do Arunachala Girivalam. So do the deities. Even the superfast Lord Hanuman takes the same time (that a human does) to do Arunachala Girivalam.

Sathguru Venkataraman used to say that Arunachala expands for deities so that they are made to take the same time as humans in doing GiriValam.

Siddha Maha Vaakya - The Great Arunachala Secret

How is this so? This can only be understood by understanding the Siddha Maha Vakya of Sathguru Venkataraman: "THE UNIVERSE IS BUT A FRAGMENT OF ARUNACHALA. In other words, ARUNACHALA IS MUCH MUCH MORE THAN THE MANIFEST UNIVERSE." Without the grace of Arunachala, this Siddha secret can never be figured out.

The "Aasu Mozhi" secrets of Arunachala's Karthigai Deepam help us in this process.

TEN Aasu Mozhi blessings on each day of the 2010 Arunachala Karthigai Deepam.

Special Siddha Paribhasa Mantra 1 for the 2010 Deepam

Special Siddha Paribhasa Mantra 2 for the 2010 Deepam

12 Nov 2010 - Day 1

(Arunachala "Aasu Mozhi" 1)
Day 1 of the 2010 Arunachala Karthigai Deepam
The "Flag Hoisting" Day

Sathguru Venkataraman TEN Aasu Mozhi languages on the spiritual path - FRUIT of bhakti (devotion).

Given in sacred spots that bless us with sharp spiritual intelligence, such as the Divya Gnaneswarar shrine in Koviladi which is also home to the great Appakudathan temple.

Lord Brahma and Temple Festivals

The yearly festival in temples is known as Brahmotsava and lasts around ten days. This signifies that time of the year when Lord Brahma Himself, along with Mother Saraswati, offered worship at these sacred spaces. These are days of festivities - days of great cheer and happiness all around. When the yearly Brahmotsava is celebrated in the Oppiliappan Temple, the Tirupati Temple, etc. Lord Brahma Himself takes part to this day and blesses people.

The Eternal Arunachala Sookshma Jothi - From this Jothi, emerges the BRAHMA MOZHI as one of Its shaktis (energies).

Secrets of Infants given by Sathguru Venkataraman

The sounds from the lips of a newly born infant are part of BRAHMA MOZHI.

There are sounds and swaras in our world that a human can't produce. In the braying of an ass are special sound swaras that are beyond a human.

These sounds of nature have a deep significance on the Siddha path of spirituality.

So too the sounds from an infant.

Humans can't figure out what is being said and so they dismiss these sounds as gibberish. But there is meaning in these sounds. The sounds of an infant are BALA BRAHMA MOZHI, said Sathguru Venkataraman.

An infant is completely guileless. It is a symbol of complete honesty. This TOTAL PURITY rises up as sound and merges with the celestial voices.

Because of its complete purity, the sounds of infants are sounds of PURE LOVE. Thus their capacity to mesmerize adults, said Sathguru Venkataraman.

Even though adults dismiss the sounds of an infant as meaningless, they are still captivated by this prattle. This is due to the all conquering power of PURE LOVE that is in an infant, thanks to the complete absence of guile and deception, said the Sathguru.

Because adults have been contaminated by the guile and deception of Kali Yuga, they are not able to understand the BALA BRAHMA MOZHI of PURE LOVE spoken by an infant.

If an adult gets rid of deception and regains purity, he will be able to understand what emerges from the lips of an infant, taught the Sathguru.

Brahma's Great Tapasya and Yoga Sayanam - Connection with Infants - Siddha Secret

In the Adi Varaha Theetham of Tirupati, Lord Brahma did tapasya (spiritual austerities) for 600 million Years of the Devas. In this tapasya, Lord Brahma did yoga sayana like Lord Ranganatha. Thus the BALA BRAHMA MOZHI of an infant is spoken while lying down. In the first few months of its life, an infant is laid down on its back. One of the Siddha secrets behind this is the yoga sayanam of Lord Brahma. As the kid gets adulterated by the human world of Kali Yuga, it rolls over; it is not on its back anymore. Its language too begins to lose the complete purity of BALA BRAHMA MOZHI, said the Sathguru. This is the Siddha insight behind what happens in the first few months of an infant's life. Like the Sathguru used to remark, there is a LOT to learn.

On this day...

On this BRAHMA MOZHI Day of 12 November 2010, start your Arunachala Girivalam at the Brahma Lingam Shrine inside the Arunachala Temple while chanting hymns in praise of Mother Saraswathi and complete it at the Bootha Narayana Shrine.

Satya Parayana Maharishi of Brahma Loka does this worship every year on this day. He carries a wooden peetam (made of sacred wood) with him. Deserving souls may get his darshan in Arunachala on this day.

Special Siddha Paribhasa Mantra for 12 Nov 2010 (Day 1 of the 2010 Karthigai Deepam)

"vaanudambu konda thiru vaanulaga paiyavazhi vandhadhoru vaiyavazhi chaaram
- koodudhamme konda siva kolam

13 Nov 2010 - Day 2

(Arunachala "Aasu Mozhi" 2)
Day 2 of the 2010 Arunachala Karthigai Deepam

Sathguru Venkataraman One of the meanings of the word PASU is cow.

Cows and Infants

Cow's milk next only to mother's milk in nourishing an infant.

Through the medium of cow's milk, an infant is taught the second Aasu Mozhi known as Pasu Mozhi.

As a kid gets more and more of the scent of Bhuloka (earth), its sense of Brahma Loka becomes less and less. At this stage, it is blessed with the second of the Aasu Mozhis - PASU MOZHI.

Profound connection between infants and Mother Cow. A cow can easily understand the kiddish prattle of an infant that humans can't. Such are the inscrutable ways of life.

In olden days, infants would be taken to the presence of Mother Cow in the morning, noon and evening to get its blessings. A cow's tail has the shakti to remove the effects of "drishti" (evil eye) on infants.

Go Matha (Mother Cow) Arunachala Darshans

All deities are resident in Mother Cow. Avatar of all deities in Arunachala. Thus many cow related darshans in Arunachala, such as Gomukha Darshan and Gopala Darshan in the vicinity of the Krishna Temple. Gomukti Darshan, Gosukta darshan. These Arunachala darshans can be had on the Girivalam Path between the Nirrtti Lingam (south west) and the Vayu Linga.

On this day...

Since the avatar of all deities happens in Arunachala first, the avatar of Mother Saraswati - who is in charge of all languages - happened in Arunachala too. And all languages in turn have their avatar in the Eternal Jothi Light of Arunachala. This day - 13 Nov 2010 - is the day of the second Aasu Mozhi (Pasu Mozhi).

Vidyaranya Maharishi - master of all languages. Learns Siddha secrets from Lord Hanuman. His main worship is Arunachala Girivalam. He instructs us in Pasu Mozhi. A "Veda Keera" parrot will be with him always listening to the vedas. Thus the name "Kili-thaangi Muni" for him. Deserving souls may get his darshan on this day.

Special Siddha Paribhasa Mantra for 13 Nov 2010 (Day 2 of the 2010 Karthigai Deepam)

"arunai kadalaazhi adhuve arutkadalaam
arunai perum jothi adhuve thiru porulaam

14 Nov 2010 - Day 3

(Arunachala "Aasu Mozhi" 3)
Day 3 of the 2010 Arunachala Karthigai Deepam

Sathguru Venkataraman In every yuga, there are many different languages.

Mother and Father of All Languages

But, Sathguru Venkataraman used to say that for all these languages, Divine Tamil is the MOTHER Language and Divine Sanskrit is the FATHER Language. This Siddha fact must get ingrained in us before we can get an understanding of the ten Aasu Mozhi language secrets of Arunachala's Karthigai Deepam.

Divine Tamil was given by Lord Muruga to Maha Guru Agasthiar who was then instructed in Tamil Grammar by Lord Shiva Himself at the Innambur Temple. Such is the divine provenance of Tamil, the MOTHER of all languages.

Infants and Birds

Meditating on this Siddha fact about the mother and father of all languages, we move to the third of the Aasu Mozhis - Keera Mozhi - the language of parrots and birds.

Sathguru Venkataraman has spoken about the languages of birds and animals in his public lectures.

An infant pays attention to the goings on near it. It listens to the sounds of nature such as the chirping of birds and understands what is being said. An ability it "forgets" as it becomes more and more human with each passing day!

Birds and Ranganatha

Sathguru Venkataraman used to say that one of the great things about birds is that they are able to visit other lokas and bring messages from there. One can visit such lokas with the help and guidance of such yogic birds. To be able to do this, one needs yoga shakti that can be gotten by the blessings of Lord Ranganatha through His worship.

While it may seem to us that an infant is asleep for more than 15 hours every day, Sathguru Venkataraman said that each infant has the ability to leave its physical body in the Yoga Marthanda state on this earth and visit other lokas. This is the Siddha insight into the yogic sleep of infants.

From the pure Bala Brahma state, an infant moves to the second stage of Pasu Mozhi through the medium of cow's milk. From that state, it becomes more and more aware of our world through the sounds of birds.

Duty of Birds and Duty of Man

In Sathguru Venkataraman's Siddha system, feeding of and caring for birds are important elements. The Sathguru used to say that this is one of the daily duties of humans.

Birds have the responsibility of communicating celestial messages meant for humans (KEERA MOZHI) to those who are deserving. They are discharging this responsibility properly, but how about man, asked the Sathguru.

Birds and Arunachala

The Arunachala darshan worshipped by birds is the PakshiRajaVedhi darshan which can be had near the Nandi Mukha at the spot where the Chengam Road brances off.

The Siddha for Kids

The Siddha known as Kuzhandhaiyananda Swamigal (whose jeeva samadhi is in Arasaradi near Madurai) has the yoga shakti to communicate with infants everywhere. He is an eternal shakti whose blessings can be had today and everyday. One of the important responsibilities of every parent is to take their kids to the jeeva samadhi shrine of this Siddha and request the blessings of the Siddha for their kids.

On this day...

On this day, the great Sukha Maharishi does Arunachala Girivalam while chanting mantras from ancient Vedas that are beyond the four given to Kali Yuga man. Deserving souls may get the darshan of this great maharishi and also the sookshma and karana forms of Siddha Kuzhandhaiyananda Swamigal.

Special Siddha Paribhasa Mantra for 14 Nov 2010 (Day 3 of the 2010 Karthigai Deepam)

"mantraaya jayakaaraaya sateesevyaaya parabrahmane

15 Nov 2010 - Day 4

(Arunachala "Aasu Mozhi" 4)
Day 4 of the 2010 Arunachala Karthigai Deepam

Sathguru Venkataraman After the innate Bala Brahma Mozhi, an infant learns through the medium of cows and birds. Next come the lessons through celestial voices - thunder, lightning, wind, rain and such sounds of nature. This is the fourth of the Aasu Mozhi blessings and is very important.

As infants, we adults learnt all these lessons too, but what happened to them? How did we lose them? How do we get them back? What is the Siddha way to get back these lost treasures?

Celestial Voice Siddha Secrets

Sathguru Venkataraman said that clouds, thunder, rain and wind can grasp the secrets regarding the worship procedures of deities - such as Vishnu Triratri Vrata - and give them to deserving souls. The Siddha secrets concerning celestial voices have been described in detail in earlier issues of Sathguru Venkataraman's monthly magazine. Refer to those for further details.

The darshan of Sun's light and Moon's light are part of the Vaan Mozhi secrets. Light becoming Vaan Mozhi sound and vice versa. The way in which Yagnavalkya Maharishi received Veda Mantras from Lord Soorya.

"Brain Shakti" Sacred Space

Yagnavalkya Maharishi received Veda Mantras from Lord Soorya at the "Brain Shakti" sacred space of Purasakudi where Gnana Ganesha, Gnana Skanda Muruga, Gnana Ambika and Kalahastheeswara Shiva bless us with brain shakti and gnana. Everything about this sacred space brims with gnana and brain shakti.

On this day...

On this day of (Vaan Mozhi) celestial voice shakti, Yagnavalkya Maharishi worships Arunachala by doing Girivalam. By the command of his guru, Yagnavalkya Maharishi ejected his gnana from his body and this was consumed on "purasa leaves" by the guru's disciples in the form of Tithiri birds. Deserving souls may get the darshan of Yagnavalkya and of the thithiri birds on this day.

Mantra for 15 Nov 2010 (Day 4 of the 2010 Karthigai Deepam)

On this day, do Arunachala Girivalam while chanting the most holy "Vaaranam Ayiram" set of hymns composed by Andal, an avatar of the Divine Mother.

16 Nov 2010 - Day 5

(Arunachala "Aasu Mozhi" 5)
Day 5 of the 2010 Arunachala Karthigai Deepam

Sathguru Venkataraman Sathguru Venkataraman said that the Divine Tamil Language is filled with "pancha bhoota shakti" (the shakti of the five elements) that can activate and redeem all beings.

The Most Ancient Language

This Mother of all languages is more ancient than all the languages known not just to man but to all beings in all parts of the universe. But how do we know this? Simple! The first word spoken by infants is "amma," the Tamil word for mother. Thus, even infants know this Siddha secret about the most ancient of all languages, said the Sathguru. Furthermore, the cry of a new born calf is the same word "amma" too. So the proof is right in front of us.

Learning Tamil is a Spiritual Sadhana

Maha Guru Agasthiar was an expert in Sanskrit, but Lord Shiva sent him south to learn Tamil from Lord Muruga. So Lord Shiva illustrated the importance of learning Tamil through the example of the greatest Siddha. Not only that, He Himself instructed the Maha Guru in Tamil Gramar at Innambur.

But what's happening today? These are times when even Tamilians can't read or write Tamil. What an irony!

Lord Shiva felt that the Maha Guru himself should learn Tamil, but nowadays, even Tamilians are not learning Tamil! This is a tragic. Wake up! Think of the example of Lord Shiva and Maha Guru Agasthiar.

Think thus: If it was important for the greatest Siddha to learn Tamil, is it not important for us mere mortals? Of course it is. So learn this divine language. This learning process itself is a spiritual practice like it was for Maha Guru Agasthiar.

On this day...

This is a day in which the the Aasu Mozhi shaktis of the Arunachala Deepam Light manifest themselves in orange color and kindle the "netra tapasya shakti" in our eyes. This happens in 10 different ways on this day and our spiritual intellect is activated in a profound way. On this day, do Arunachala Girivalam while keeping Bhaskararaaya Maharishi in mind.

Mantra for 16 Nov 2010 (Day 5 of the 2010 Karthigai Deepam)

On this day, do Arunachala Girivalam while chanting the most holy "Vaaranam Ayiram" set of hymns composed by Andal, an avatar of the Divine Mother.

(Arunachala "Aasu Mozhi" 6)
Day 6 of the 2010 Arunachala Karthigai Deepam

First 3 months of an infant's life. How an infant visits celestial lokas. Sathguru Venkataraman How we have forgotten these events of our early life. How we are reminded of these step by step during this 2010 Karthigai Deepam, thanks to Sathguru Venkataraman and the Agasthiar Siddha Lineage.

The Siddha who can teach us the "Brahma Rahasya" (great secret) concerning the early life of an infant is Nidhakar Maharishi. Deserving souls may get a darshan of Nidhakar Maharishi on this day in Arunachala. He is generally found with a "sugarcane kavadi" or carrying an infant's cradle with him.

What is Deva Mozhi?

Bhaskararaaya Maharishi

The "Divya Prakasa Yoga" state of Bhaskararaya Maharishi. Sathguru Venkataraman on Bhaskararaaya Maharishi and Thiruvidaimarudur. This rishi had the "netra yoga shakti" in his eyes to see the blazing sun with his eyes and the shakti to see nakshatras (stars) during daytime. The 27 nakshatra Shiva Lingas.

Mantra for 17 Nov 2010 (Day 6 of the 2010 Karthigai Deepam)

On this day, do Arunachala Girivalam while chanting the most holy "Vaaranam Ayiram" set of hymns composed by Andal, an avatar of the Divine Mother.

18 Nov 2010 - Day 7

(Arunachala "Aasu Mozhi" 7)
Day 7 of the 2010 Arunachala Karthigai Deepam

Kaarana = Cause. There IS a cause for everything.

Radha, Krishna and Tulasi

Mother Radha and Lord Krishna. Sathguru Venkataraman Mother Radha, the first of the 5 Great Devis (Radha, Durga, Lakshmi, Saraswati, Savitri). Mother Radha whose avatar happened from the "Achala Deepam." Sacred Tulasi leaves. Regular worship of Mother Radha and Lord Krishna with Tulasi leaves can easily lead to Mukti (salvation). "Mukti Deepam" of Arunachala.

The wedding of Mother Radha and Lord Krishna

The divine wedding of Mother Radha and Lord Krishna secretly officiated by Lord Brahma. Even rishis could not see this most divine, most secret sight. On this day, this great secret of this divine wedding becomes the divine message (aasu mozhi) of the Arunachala Deepam Light. The blessing of this deepa jothi on this day can reveal to us the cause behind every event.

Tulsi and us

Everyone of us must care for the sacred Thulasi plant during our lives on this planet. Those who have not done this should gift land with tulsi to the poor. Another solution is arranging and caring for flower and tulsi gardens in temples. This can get one the blessings of the "Kaarana Deepa Mozhi" Darshan. The Tulasi enclosure of the "Brain Shakti" sacred space of Mother Gnanambika in Purasakudi brims with deepa shakti.

Knowing the cause

Sacred Tulsi can help us know the cause behind any event in this world. Growing Tulasi in one's house can help one easily inculcate Yoga Shakti, Gnana Shakti and Yagya Shakti in one's house. Offering Tulsi leaves as "archana" when we chant divine names is GREAT daily worship.

On this sacred Tulsi Wedding Day...

On this day, celebrate the wedding ceremony of Mother Thulasi Devi. (This is a sacred ceremony). Doing this in the Venugopala shrine in the Arunachala Temple is ideal. This can also be done in the Krishna Temple. After the ceremony, get the darshan of the subtle Arunachala Jothi Light at the peak of the Arunachala Hill and thus become a vessel for receiving the blessings of the "Kaarana Mozhi Deepa Shakti" of this day.

Mantra for 18 Nov 2010 (Day 7 of the 2010 Karthigai Deepam)

On this day, do Arunachala Girivalam while chanting Mother Tulasi mantras and hymns.

19 Nov 2010 - Day 8

(Arunachala "Aasu Mozhi" 8)
Day 8 of the 2010 Arunachala Karthigai Deepam

Would you like to have knowledge of the past, present and future? Who wouldn't!

Getting knowledge of the past, present and future

But how does one get knowledge of the past, present and future? Through perfect brahmacharya (vow of chastity) by strictly following paths such as Bhakti, Gnana, Yoga or Tapasya, one can get knowledge of the past, present and future. But before getting this ability, one will be posed a fundamental question: "What is it that you are going to achieve using this ability?" The answer to this question will determine whether one gets this ability or not. So the "gnana" of threefold time (past, present and future) is not that easy.

VAIYA MOZHI and Time Travel

Sathguru Venkataraman Then again, one cannot say that one has reached the limit of gnana. Because at every stage of gnana, there is a stage beyond it, said Sathguru Venkataraman. This is VAIYA MOZHI - the divine message of countless "gnana" lokas. This is the aasu mozhi blessing for today, 19 Nov 2010. VAIYA MOZHI helps the time traveller as he travels backward and forward in time in any part of this world.

Moodhaa Karuppar = Bhairava + Veerabhadra + Narasimha shaktis

One of the Siddha secrets given to us by Sathguru Venkataraman is that the Lord Sri Karuppana Swami avatar is a divine combination of the shaktis of Lord Bhairava, Lord Veerabhadra and Lord Narasimha. One of the greatest Karuppana Swami deities is the Moodha Karuppa Moorthi near the shrine of Kondraiadi Ganesh in Aranmanaipatti. This great protector Karuppana deity gives us perfection in the threefold path of Gnana, Bhakti and Yoga.

Madhukur Brahmaiya Swami Siddha

This great Siddha's jeeva samadhi shrine is in the Madhukoor sacred space. He did intense tapasya in the nearby Moothaakurichi sacred space which is on the Mannargudi - Madhukur route. Brahmayya Swami Siddha is an expert in VAIYA MOZHI. Having transcended the limitations of time, he can converse with anyone at anytime and explain all events of the past, present and future using VAIYA MOZHI. He helps rishis, munis, yogis, gnanis, jeevanmuktas, devas, asuras, humans and also animals, birds and sacred plants such as "arugampul" grass.

Hanuman and VAIYA Mozhi. Vaiya Mozhi only for those who are perfect in brahmacharya (chastity) and those who are perfect in grahasta dharma. Veda Nidhi and Vaiya Mozhi. Vedha Nidhi flowers in Bheeshma's garden visible only to him and not to others. Bheeshma's worship of Krishna with these Vedha Nidhi flowers. On the path from Muladhara chakra to Sahasrara Chakra, Bhishma had gotten "Veda Nidhi" as a tejomaya shakti. Not many have accomplished this feat. Thus he was also given the boon of choosing his time of death. All this was due to his unshakeable Vajra Brahmacharya vow as a result of which he was blessed with tejas shakti that could rival the sun itself in radiance. He had the blessing of conversing with Lord Krishna in VAIYA Mozhi.

All the great souls of the Purana Epics get the bliss of Arunachala Deepa Darshan to this day. When close to a million people circle the Arunachala Hill on every Pournami Full Moon night, a few hundreds of these will be the siddhas, rishis, gnanis and yogis of other yugas and great souls like Bhishma and Vidura. But they will not reveal their identity to the world because the humans of Kali Yuga will pester them with all kinds of material requests. So they remain incognito and enjoy the bliss of Arunachala Girivalam, said Sathguru Venkataraman.

On this day...

This is the day when the blessings of VAIYA MOZHI are given through the subtle Deepa Jothi of Arunachala. On this day, Beeshma will get the blissful darshan of the VAIYA Mozhi Arunachala Deepa Jyoti. By Guru's grace, one can understand these deep Vaiya Mozhi secrets of Arunachala.

Very Special Mantra for Very Special Day!

The Siddha Paribhasa mantra for today (given below) is very special. This nine line mantra is the combined grace of 90 million Siddhas. On this day, the Nava Nidhi treasures (Sanga Nidhi, Padma Nidhi, Veda Nidhi, Gaana Nidhi, Swarna Nidhi, Moola Nidhi, etc.) will appear as divine flowers in the Kubera (North) direction in the subtle Arunachala Deepa Jothi. Of these, the Veda Nidhi flowers will appear in gold with a most exquisite, unworldy fragrance sparkling with golden radiance.

Special Siddha Paribhasa Mantra for 19 Nov 2010 (Day 8 of the 2010 Karthigai Deepam)

"kanaga kazhalum kallaagi
kalle kanaga kanalaagi
kanale kazhalaai kanagaagi

20 Nov 2010 - Day 9

(Arunachala "Aasu Mozhi" 9)
Day 9 of the 2010 Arunachala Karthigai Deepam

What is Viswa? Viswa = the Universe that is seen with the eye of Gnana (wisdom).

How to "SEE" the Entire Universe

The universe is MUCH MORE than our own planet earth and the sum total of the star systems we see in the sky. To "SEE" this Viswa Universe, the EYE of Wisdom needs to be opened by the Universal Mother GNANA GNANAMBIKA of the "Brain Shakti" sacred space of Purasakudi (near Soolamangalam, Pasupathi Kovil, Thanjavur) as a result of getting the grace of the Guru.

Sathguru Venkataraman: "The Manifest Universe is but a small fragment of Arunachala"

When Mother Gnana Gnanambika gives us the Yoga Netra Shakti and opens our Eye of Wisdom, we can see the entire universe and beyond from whereever we are. With this eye of Gnana, we "see" that the small abode of Mother Gnana Gnanambika in Purasakudi is larger than the universe and we begin to understand Sathguru Venkataraman's Siddha statement: "The Manifest Universe is but a small fragment of Arunachala."

The Guru and the Universe

It is with the grace of the Sathguru that we are able to personally experience the extent of the universe and that too only to an extent. This is possible only through Bhakti, Gnana and Yoga sadhana practices.

"SEEing" the Awesome Universal Form of God

It is this Sathguru blessing that leads one to the "Viswa roopa Darshan" of the Divine where the Lord blesses us with His all encompassing Deity Form of all deities and shaktis spanning the entire Universe. Wherever you look, you will see this amazing deity form and thus the name Viswa Roopa Darshan - the vision of the Universal Form. Everyone of us can get this awesome divine darshan provided we are totally sincere in our sadhana and seva, provided our heart overflows with selfless, pure devotional love.

The Formless Divine and the Numerous Deity Forms

The Formless Divine takes the form of numerous deities and of this universe itself to support us, to sustain us, to comfort us, to protect us, to inspire us, to uplift us, to redeem us, Sathguru Venkataraman to bless us and to have us reach Him and merge with His Lotus Feet, said Sathguru Venkataraman.

Can our human eyes "SEE" God?

But can one see this awesome Universal Form (Visvaroopa Darshan) of God that encompasses all deities with our human eyes? Not a chance. One needs to be gifted special eyes by God before one can "see" this Universal Form. This is absolutely one of the great divine blessings.

The Sacred Space that helps us "SEE" God

Lord Saturn (Shaniswara), the son of Lord Soorya, wanted to see God! So He engaged in rigorous "paadha pooja" - worshipping the feet of His parents - at the Shiva Temple in the sacred space known as Kann Kodutha Vanitham (near Koradacheri). As a result of this worship, the Lord blessed Saniswara with "gnana shakti netra" eyes with which He was able to get the darshan of God. This is one of the great sacred spaces that helps us get the darshan of the Divine.
Karanam, Kaaranam
Tharanam, Thaaranam,
Udharanam, Udhaaranam.
Uddharana Veda Mantras.
Thaarana Shakti.
Thirunindravur and Thirunindriyoor. Hymns composed at these sacred spaces. Chant them on this day. Heart shakti and Wealth shakti.
Bhishma. Ganga Devi. Krishna. 1000 petalled Golden Lotus. This Deepa Day.

Innambur Sacred Space and the Agasthiar Siddha Lineage

Viswa Mozhi, Vaan Mozhi and Vaiya Mozhi secrets given by Sathguru Venkataraman.

The Shiva Temple of Innambur is very important for our Agasthiar Guru Parampara Lineage.

Just like Karuvalarcheri is the "Agasthiar Guru Padhuka Shakti" sacred space, Innambur is the "Agasthiar Shishya Bhavana Shakti" scared space.

Maha Guru Agasthiar and Lord Shiva, Mother Gnanambika and Lord Soorya at Innambur.

Maha Guru Agasthiar and 20 Nov 2010

Maha Guru Agasthiar himself does Girivalam today (20 Nov 2010) along with many other great Siddhas and rishis.

20 Nov 2010 Pournami Full Moon Night Arunachala Girivalam

The Pournami Full moon night of the Karthigai month (November) of the Vikruthi Year of 2010 is known as KANDHA PAVITRA MAHA MUNI POURNAMI according to our Agasthiar Siddha Lineage.
In temple kumbhabishekam re-consecration ceremonies, there is a special ceremony known as KANDHAPAVITRAM. Sri Kandha Pavitra Maha Muni is a great expert in this ceremony.
The Pournami Full Moon thithi starts at 10:39 pm (Indian Standard Time) on 20 Nov 2010 and lasts until 10:58 p.m. IST on 21 Nov 2010.

Thiru Annamalai

21 Nov 2010 - Day 10

(Arunachala "Aasu Mozhi" 10)
Day 10 of the 2010 Arunachala Karthigai Deepam

The Day on which the Karthikai Deepam Flame
will be lit at 6 pm in Arunachala Annamalai

This is the day the Karthigai Deepam Jyoti Flame will be lit at the peak of the Arunachala Hill.

Totally complete!

The "Aasu Mozhi" blessing for today is known as "Paripoorna Mozhi" - the totally complete aasu mozhi.
Sathguru Venkataraman Arunachala's "totally complete" aasu mozhi blessing of today is total and complete in the sense that it subsumes all the languages of humans, animals, birds and other creatures as well as the 9 aasu mozhis of the previous 9 days.

More than just language

As we said earlier, the word "mozhi" means much more than language in the context of Arunachala's "aasu mozhi" blessings.
An infant cannot communicate via spoken language but it does communicate with cows, elephants, birds, plants, trees and angels. (It is just that human faculties can't figure this out.) The infant does this because it has the "aasu mozhi" blessings to know the language of love and the language of the heart.
Similarly, we talk about the "language" of hunger or the "language" of love which don't need any words.
So this is one way of understanding the Siddha statement that "mozhi" means much more than language.

Beyond words

The "aasu mozhi" blessings of Arunachala are beyond words and numbers. Through the medium of "dhaana dharma" (selfless, charitable giving) and the results of good karma, one may grasp a bit of it.
Satisfying all beings and making them feel the serenity of contentment, each in its own way, is the unique shakti of Arunachala's "aasu mozhi" blessings.

Giving a daughter in marriage and getting 1008 shaktis

Parents giving their daughter in marriage is known as "kannika dhaanam" if this sacred process is done in accordance with the rules of dharma.
As a result of this sacred "giving," more than 1008 positive shaktis are bestowed upon these parents, their ancestors and their progeny.
How does this happen? Through the agency of aasu mozhi.

The Human Aura

Around eveyone's head is the subtle aura that discloses one's good and bad karmas.
It is possible to see this aura and figure out what is going on.
How is this possible? Through the agency of aasu mozhi.

The Deepam seen by Deities and Siddhas

Sathguru Venkataraman When the Karthigai Deepam is lit at the peak of the Arunachala Hill, every deity, every Siddha, every rishi, every saint, every gnani, every yogi, every jeevan mukta, every paramahamsa, every mumukshu and every deva will be present in their subtle forms in Arunachala.
They enjoy the bliss of Karthigai Deepam like we do too.
But do we get the same Deepam darshan that They do? No. What They see is different from what we see. If we should see what they are able to see, we should have the total and complete aasu mozhi blessings that they have!

Why we lost the "aasu mozhi" blessings what we had as infants

As an infant we enjoyed many aasu mozhi blessings, but with every passing day, we gained more of the scent of planet earth and lost the aasu mozhi scent! Why?
This is the result of past karma. As karma begins to take effect, one loses the scent of the divine and gets embroiled in the ways of the world of maya delusion. One result of this is the loss of the aasu mozhi blessings that we had as infants.

How to get it back?

Through the worship procedures for the 10 days of the 2010 Vikruthi Year Arunachala Karthigai Deepam that have been given here, one can get back on the road towards regaining the aasu mozhi blessings that we have lost.

Not even the tip of the iceberg

So these are some of the Siddha secret blessings of the "Aasu Mozhi Pesum Arunachala Paranjothi Talking Deepam" of the 2010 Vikruti Year. What has been covered here is not even the tip of the iceberg. There is a great deal more.

By the grace of Arunachala...

By the grace of Arunachala's Karthigai Deepam Light of Wisdom, may the whole world be launched on the path of regaining what it has lost; may it get back the language of love, the language of the heart and the other "aasu mozhi" blessings of Arunachala.

Mantra for 21 Nov 2010 (Day 10 of the 2010 Karthigai Deepam)

On this day, the Karthigai Deepam Jyoti Flame will be lit at the peak of the Arunachala Hill at 6 pm Indian Standard Time. On this day, do Arunachala Girivalam while chanting the great "Bilvashtakam" hymn and the "Pidittha Patthu" hymns of the great Nayanmar saints.
With every step of the way, look at the Jyoti Flame Darshan at the peak of the Arunachala Hill.
