Many of you are concerned about your Shani (Saturn) dasa, bhukti periods, Sade Sati - 7 1/2 years of Saturn in the 12th, 1st and 2nd houses from rasi (Vedic/sidereal Moon Sign) or lagna (ascendant) or (by what you think is a problematic) position of Lord Saturn in your rasi kundali (birth chart/horoscope). Given below are basic, simple and general suggestions that anyone can follow in any part of the world. What NOT To Do *** The First Step in Lord Saturn Worship The first and most basic thing to realize is that Lord Shaneeswara Saturn is a deity to be worshipped with respect and devotion like any other deity. Once you truly incorporate this in your thinking, the rest becomes easy. From the above, it should become very obvious that saying nasty things about Saniswara or thinking such thoughts about Shaneeswara is NOT smart. To QUIT such habits or thought patterns right now is SMART. We mention this here since these negative patterns are prevalent in Tamil Nadu and elsewhere. In fact, they are prevalent to such a deplorable extent that the divine name "Shani" is used as a curseword! This is the height of ignorance. This ignorant and harmful practice must be stopped, said Sathguru Venkataraman. SMART and RIGHT Thinking Many say that Saturn is causing them problems. How can this be true when the reality is that it is one's karma that results in one encountering problems? So blaming Saturn (or anyone else) for one's problems is NOT smart. What is SMART is to realize that with Lord Saturn's help, one can deal with problems and come out a much better human being - THAT IS SMART and RIGHT. So people should quit blaming Lord Saturn or saying nasty things about Him. Rather, people should become recipients of His grace and improve themselves. That is the smart and RIGHT thing to do. How to please Lord Saturn

Ohm Siva Siva Ram Ram Ohm. Refer to the articles/clip on Lord Saturn including the one on Golden Saturn. These will help you learn how to relate to Lord Saturn and how to worship Him. Once you learn this, you will begin to appreciate the great help given by Lord Saturn to all of us in crossing the bhava saagara. This will help you become grateful to Him and become a Shaniswara Bhakta. Note that most people have totally erroneous opinions about Lord Saturn and these must be given up COMPLETELY. This is a prerequisite for Lord Saturn worship. After this, follow the pooja procedures for Lord Saturn described in our articles/clip. We have given audio help for a mantra that THRILLS Lord Saturn. (Lord Shaniswara Himself said that to the composer of that mantra.) Use this mantra constantly with respect and devotion to Lord Saturn. Of course, continue the Hanuman Chalisa pooja. Adding the Saturday Mantra of Lord Shri Ram to your worship is a good idea since that Saturday-mantra venerates Lord Saturn, Lord Hanuman and Lord Rama. Shri Ram Jaya Ram Jaya Jaya Sundara Ram. Shani Pooja worship also includes fasting (e.g., fasting on Saturdays as part of the worship of Lord Saturn), dhaana-dharma charitable giving, temple seva (especially in Saturn Shakti sacred spaces) and knowing which flowers to use in deity alankar and archana, which grains, fruits, vegetables and dishes to use as neivedya and so on. This can only be learnt by personal experience, i.e., by doing this daily worship with sincerity. One condition: Please don't ever say or think that Lord Shani or His dasha is causing trouble. That very thought will negate the pooja. Disrespect to the deity or thinking ill of the deity can never be helpful. The right attitude (of devotion and piety) is important. Daily Worship of the 9 Nava Graha Deities It is a good idea for everyone to incorporate the daily worship of the Nava Grahas (the 9 Graha deities loosely referred to as "planetary" deities) as part of your daily worship procedures. An extremely simple way to do this was given to us by Sathguru Venkataraman decades ago.
