Past Connections and Present Lives - Mahabharata Insights and Krishna's Promise
Nava Natha Siddhas
Sri Krishna was not just a friend and benefactor of the Pandavas and Draupadi, He was also their spiritual Guru and Lord.
So Krishna would teach them many a secret, but He did this much more with Arjuna than with the others. One of the reasons is their Nara Narayana past in which Arjuna was the rishi Nara and Krishna was the rishi Narayana.
After the Kurukshetra War towards the end of the Dwapara Yuga,
Lord Krishna Himself explained many of the secrets of His Krishna avatar to some of those who were truly devoted to Him. This He did at His sacred space of Paandur.
In this sacred space, Lord Krishna gave the guarantee that just like He took an avatar form and appeared in the Dwapara Yuga to restore dharma and reduce the burden of this world, His form will do the same in the Kali Yuga too. This is revealed in the Irudigal Bharatham of the Nava Natha Siddhas.
To physically illustrate the idea of natural progression of the Yugas (ages), the Lord has His unique dual-deity form in Paandur.
The Connection with Sri Krishna
As is well known, the Pandavas were descended from deities on the paternal side and from Sri Krishna's clan on the maternal side.
Yudhistira was an amsa of Yama Dharmaraja, the Deva of justice and death.
Bheema was an amsa of Vayu, the Deva of Wind.
Arjuna was an amsa of Indra, the King of the 330 million Devas.
The twins, Nakula and Sahadeva, were amsas of the Aswini Kumaras, the Devas of health and healing.
Thus every character in the Mahabharata was born to assist Lord Krishna in His divine work of removing adharma, establishing dharma and reducing the burden of the world.
(If all of these past connections were to be explained, it will go on and on. However, the Nava Natha Siddhas, who are the authorities on all the happenings in the Purana Epics, have catalogued every one of these past connections.)
Does God need assistance???
We used the expression, "born to assist Lord Krishna" above.
Assist God?? Is that possible? Does God need any assistance? That very thought of assiting God is itself Maya delusion.
This was beautifully illustrated by Lord Shiva in his Tripura Samhara Thandava Moorthi form.
Each one of the Devas thought they were "assisting" the Lord when He set out on His divine mission to destroy the Tripura demons. Yet the Lord just looked at the demons and they were destroyed.
Two goals were achieved: (1) the destruction of the demonic forces who deserved to be destroyed and (2) the destruction of the maya delusion of the Devas (who were arrogant enough to think that the Lord needed their assistance and) whose arrogance deserved to be destroyed.
Rama and Rishis = Krishna and Gopis
In the Treta Yuga, the rishis who met with Rama had an intense longing to be with Him and enjoy His divine darshan every minute of the day.
The blessed Lord acceded to their longing and gave them the opportunity in His Krishna avatar.
Every Gopi, every human, every animal, every bird, every creature, every tree and every plant of Gokula were Rishis and Siddhas brimming with tapasya shakti who had longed to be with the Lord.
And they were blessed with the unimaginable opportunity of being with Him in Gokula when He incarnated there as the baby Krishna.
Sri Krishna made a part of His Adi Goloka descend to this earth in Gokula and thus these souls got the unique blessing of being with the Lord in Adi Goloka itself!
Two in One (and) One in Two - The Gift
At the completion of the Krishna avatar, it was time for all these souls to go back to their individual celestial lokas. At that time, Lord Krishna gave darshan to them in two forms. One of the sacred places where this happened is Paandur.
One of these forms was His Krishna form of the Dwapara Yuga. The other was the deity form in which He would bless the people of the Kali Yuga.
It is these two forms that we see one before the other in Paandur. This is the great gift given by Lord Krishna to us in this Kali Yuga.
